I am writing to wish you and your family Happy Thanksgiving and a blessed holiday season from all of us at North Shore Elder Services.
To the right is a message from the daughter of one of our clients, Donna DeSimone. We were so moved by her sentiments we asked if we could share it with you.
Unfortunately, for too many elders the upcoming season may not be as pleasant as some of us are lucky to experience. Some seniors we serve have very limited economic means and do not enjoy the support of a loving and responsive family.
When your family gathers for dinner on Thanksgiving, consider sharing Donna's letter with them so they can reflect on the importance of the older folks in their lives. Whether it is honoring grandpa's laugh from the end of the table or the memories that linger with the taste of grandma's pumpkin pie, we encourage you to make a gift in their names.
